Being born and raised in Kenya, culture and the study of humanity has always been my inspiration. My beautiful country of Kenya has a diverse and unique set of cultural values and a heritage drawn from 42 ethnic groups. This has inspired me to think beyond Kenya and Africa, anthropology with its origins in the natural sciences, the humanities, and the social sciences has given me a global picture. Inspiration for me really comes from several different aspects: physical, emotional, and spiritual. I am inspired by people who despite their physical deprivation are capable of standing up against injustice by voicing their rights and "walking the walk."
